Tai-Mei is the name that I choose for web3 because I’ve always wanted to reclaim the word “Tai-Mei” which means “Taiwanese Chicks”. This term used to be derogatory to refer to Taiwanese women. Even lots of people in Taiwan or familiar with the word feel embarrassing saying the word “Tai-Mei” Understanding the history of Taiwan and the hundreds of years of Taiwanese resistance has made me understand what it means to be “Taiwanese” and “Tai-Mei”
